Sail and Sign kiosk

I haven't been on a cruise since they've had these kiosks. I'm sailing on the Triumph this Saturday, and I was wondering.... I always use cash for my S&S account as opposed to giving a credit card upon check in. In the past, I've always had to go to Guest Services immediately upon boarding to make a deposit so I could use my card, but I was wondering if I could do the initial deposit on one of the kiosks. I do have FTTF, so going to guest services may not be bad, although right after boarding I figure even the FTTF lane could have a line.

We use the kiosk as much as possible. If we are lucky to win in the casino we will sometimes put cash on the bill from that. Last cruise my mom had a problem getting her pin to take so we went to guest services and they helped her create one, after that she was able to go to the machine every time.

We can also check balances and print receipts. I have a 12 year old so I will add cash to his card daily for specialty desserts or game room activities or souvenirs.

I have not done what you are proposing (we usually have a credit card on the account), but I have deposited cash at the kiosks. One time we were planning on doing a non Carnival excursion but due to circumstances (my daughter being a less than good traveler), we decided to switch to a Carnival excursion in Cozumel. So I took the cash that I had to pay for the private excursion and applied it to our Sign and sale account to reduce our bill. I have done that a couple of times as well when I had cash that I did not use at port, I would put it on the account to decrease the bill. Works well- just like depositing at an ATM.
