OUgal Posted May 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2016 What time should I have a car service pick up my family and me to go to LGA for a Tuesday morning 10 am flight? We will be staying at a hotel near Herald Square. Our flight is with Delta. I have never been to NYC, so I'm worried about the morning traffic. Right now I have our pick up time at 7 am. Rare mking8288 Posted May 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Unless there are weather issues on the morning of departure, 7 AM hotel to LGA should be fine, allow 45 to 60 minutes trip time to DL. Flights depart at either Terminal C or Terminal D (exception behind shuttle flights) - just check ahead as you likely will be doing OLCI (Online Check-In) for latest gate & terminal assignment (also T-C and T-D are "connected" airside past TSA security). Most of the weekday commuter traffic and coming into Manhattan, the Queens-Midtown Tunnel on the East Side is probably your best route with a toll. It has an extra HOV/bus lane so outbound traffic sometimes do get a little backup, but should not really slow you down at 7 AM as you are mainly going against all the inbound commuters.
