Celebrity eclipse v RCI independence

Spent 2 cruises on eclipse, just booked indy for May next year. Would be interested to see some comparisons if anyone would like to oblige. Thanks

We've done 2 Eclipse and 1 Indy. They are similar sized ships (as you know), but I must say the Eclipse seemed less crowded (not that the Indy was). I think this is because so much deck space is lost on the Indy by having the Royal Promenade (4 decks worth of half the ship as an open space), so they do 'feel' a bit different. However, the Indy has arguably more to do (Flowrider, Rock wall etc) if you are into that sort of thing. Broadly speaking, if you liked the Eclipse you will like the Indy...and if you get Joff Eaton as CD (a Southampton lad), you will have a great time. Be sure to watch his breakfast show!

I have cruised on both, Both are great ships to sail on, we enjoyed both for different things, and would sail on either again without any hesitation, don't worry you'll be fine

Eclipse has open aft deck behind buffet to eat and relax, plus an indoor pool.

Having been on both ships, I can say it is more a question of Celebrity v Royal Caribbean

 

The two ships you have described are chalk and cheese in comparison
