I don't know you are a coffee drinker but do you know if the cuban coffee, or the cuban snacks in the Havana area are free or if they have a cost??

 

 

No I am not a coffee drinker but I do like the hot chocolate [emoji6]

I never made it back to the Havana Bar during breakfast to check out the spread

Ok. I am back for some more photos...it is nice and quiet at work

 

Now on my past few cruises I haven't had any interest to go to any of the shows because they were just blah. The shows on the Vista were all brand news so I was gonna give them a second chance. The first one that we attended was American Rock. I was completely blown away and how awesome it was. And one thing that I noticed that was different they allow pictures and video to be taken now. Nothing was ever said about not taking photos

 

The Liquid Lounge theater on decks 4 and 5. I know many people hate this design because it seems small and cramped. I can't say that I hate it but since the chairs can be moved around it does seem kinda cramped at times.

The Liquid Lounge is the theater as well as the Nightclub

After the American Rock show we headed to my favorite place onboard for dinner....

 

 

Fried Risotto Balls....so yummy

 

But this is what I come to Cucina for....the Chicken Parmesan

 

Laura had the Tiramisu for dessert

 

I had to have the Cannoli

Before the cruise our roll call took orders for a Cruise Coin. I ordered one not really expecting what they would look like

 

I was pleasantly surprised

 

 

I am guessing this is a dog....but not sure

 

This concludes Day #5 onboard the Carnival Vista

The first port of call where I disembarked was in Athens, Greece. I was really looking forward to this port because I am a huge sports fan and knowing that the Olympics originated in Athens was pretty cool to see

 

 

 

Gotta love all the one-way streets in Europe

 

Apparently Europeans don't believe in SUV's

The Olympic Pantheanic Stadium was so cool to see. By the standards of 110 years ago when the Olympics originated this stadium would be considered huge but by today's sports arena standards it was considered small

 

I was still in AWE seeing this

I could have stayed here for the whole day just walking around. We were on a Carnival excursion so that wasn't possible but I really enjoyed seeing this.

And especially knowing that the Olympics are this summer in RIO will be fun to compare the size

These orange trees were everywhere. It was like I was back in Florida

 

 

 

Our next stop would bring us to the Parthenon

This was the walking path if you wanted to hike up to the top of the freaking mountain where the Parthenon was....ummmm no thank you.

 

I was perfectly fine seeing it from this angle

Back to the bus...

 

Very fancy dresses for little girls at a little shop that we passed

 

Our final stop on our excursion was at a shopping/restaurant area.

 

 

 

It was kinda hard to order lunch when I had no idea what I was ordering. I decided to just point to something...haha

I had no trouble with this....wine in Greece --- yes please

One thing I always like to do in foreign countries and ports of call is try the local beer. Now sometimes they are awful but hot damn the Greeks know how to brew beer.

Mythos was their local beer and it was very good. The waiter brought me two because he said the glasses were small....hehe

5 euros.....trying to deal with the money seemed to be an easier task than we originally thought it would be

 

 

OK so at the first port of call in Dubrovnik we had heard that you were allowed to bring alcohol back onboard with you...not just wine. So I thought why not give it a try. I bought two bottles of the Mythos beer to take back to the ship.

This was the courthouse in Athens. Notice the blue...all government buildings in Athens would have some sort of blue on them

 

Back to the ship. Laura stopped in the duty free shop in the terminal to get some wine

Once we were back onboard my first stop was to Guys Burgers because I didn't really eat much at the restaurant

 

 

 

Athens was also a very industrial port

 

They were filling up the Vista with more fuel to get us to Barcelona

After dinner I headed up to deck 11 because I could tell that we were gonna have a beautiful sunset

Just sit back and enjoy this beautiful sunset from Athens, Greece

 

 

 

 

 

 

I always said that the most beautiful sunsets were in the Caribbean but this was beautiful. Just wait till you see the best one yet coming up in another port...

So Day #6 onboard was a Fun Day at Sea. We were originally supposed to be in Izmir, Turkey but that port was cancelled about a month before our cruise.

 

The seas were angry today.

 

This is on Deck 5 but it wasn't open yet on our cruise. I am assuming that this is where the Lanai BBQ spot will be but there was no signage up yet

It was a very rainy day so the Groove for St. Jude event was brought inside into the Atrium.
