I thought of you with this Chicken picture. It's in Naples looking out a from the Castle dell'Ovo. You can see the Vista in the background.

I made my way into the Italian Bakery....OMG I had gone to Heaven

 

It all looked sooooo good

 

But this was what I came to Italy for.....a CANNOLI

 

Is anybody drooling on their screen yet???

Oh, and no pictures of you guys doing the "lean" with the Leaning Tower in the background? :D

Hey Wrigley, glad I found your review. I'm sure your dad would have loved the Vista...just keep cruising, he would want you to continue doing what you both love to do! Thanks for doing the review, can't wait to get started!

 

Oh yeah he would have loved the Vista....oh who am I kidding he loved every ship. He was always just as excited as I was about boarding a cruise. It doesn't matter if it's your 1st cruise or your 20th

Great review so far! I think you were genius to stay on the ship and enjoy the solitude! I'm curious did you get cheers? Sorry if I missed it.

 

Also, I agree the pools need to be more accessible but I think they should figure out a way to have sloped entries as opposed to stairs because that would help people in wheelchairs. I know the water park in my hometown has 5 of the 7 pools with that feature which really seems to attract lots of handicap-able people and their families :D. The only reason I could think that this wouldn't work would be spatial considerations. Obviously the pool would have to be larger and/or made more shallow to work like this so it may not be feasible. I'm sure a lot smarter people than me have analyzed the problem.

 

No I didn't get the cheers package. It would have been almost $750.00 for the cruise. I can't drink that much....well maybe I can but I didn't want to be hungover through Europe.

Yes I am sure you are right Space Considerations in the pool are a big factor but just make one pool more accessible

Hahaha oh I wanted to get a "leaning" picture of me with the Leaning Tower of Pisa but it started to rain as we were leaving

It was an Apricot. It was worth the trip to Italy just for that cannoli ;)

This was a little pizza shop that Laura and I stopped in to use the bathroom. It was 2 euros to use the restroom or free with a purchase....so we bought a glass of wine for 2 euros. hahaha

After we were done shopping and walking around we stopped off in this little shop to try an Italian beer for me and Laura wanted to try the Gelato

 

They also had a big selection of wine

 

Anyone want a Frankfurter on their Pizza

 

 

 

There's a better picture...the torture museum. I believe I am going to take a pass at going in there

Here is my Italian Beer. It was called the Falcon (for short). It was very strong hard taste...nothing like the one I had in Athens

 

Laura got a Chocolate Gelato and a Latte

 

 

I even got Laura to try the Beer. She hates beer but she liked this one....I was very surprised

After we left the town of San Gimignano we drove to the Tenuta Torciano winery.

As we arrived at the Winery...we were greeted by the Patriarch of the Torciano Family. We all thought that was so sweet....he was inviting into his families winery

Cheese and Salami plate to compliment the wines that we were tasting

 

Bob and Shelly....we didn't know them prior to this cruise. But leading up to the cruise on our roll call we learned that they lived about 5 minutes from Laura and I in the same town. Talk about a Small World

 

Bob and Marie were from Long Island. Wonderful new friends

 

Kathy and Diane were from the Boston area

 

They kept us well supplied with the wine

This is Lucio. Our Italian Hottie...he explained to us the proper way to drink the wine

 

 

As we were listening to Lucio explain the different wines to us....Laura kicked me under the table and said look down

 

And this was what I saw....I swear I have chicken radar

 

He hung around our table....probably didn't hurt that I was feeding him bread....hehe

 

This was Lucio's Grandmothers soup recipe. It was OK

And this was his Great Grandmothers Lasagna recipe. OMG it was AMAZING. It makes it kinda hard to go eat Lasagna at the Olive Garden now....hahaha

 

 

I was trying to see if Lucio wanted to come back to Orlando with me and Laura....hehe

We had such a great time at the Wine Tasting

 

 

Our driver for the excursion was Daniel. He was a great guy...kinda quiet but we had a blast
