Wifi on the Sky?

Hi!

 

I've searched through previous boards but it looks like the latest information is from 2015.

 

Traveling on the Sky in August and I'm wondering what the options and prices are for WiFi. I am planning on bringing my AT&T iPhone and iPad. Fingers are crossed that I won't have to bring my laptop for work purposes.

 

Is it good/fast? Good enough to FaceTime the kids at home?

I bought unlimited package and am traveling on the Sky on July 22 2016. I will try to remember to post how it was.

Ultimate $29.99 per day for entire cruise

 

Currently: no streaming (including Facetime video). This is satellite internet (latency) with limited shared bandwidth. We have had "o.k." luck using facetime audio with drop outs.

 

Future: NCL is supposed to be upgrading its internet fleetwide this month. Unknown how "good" this will be,,, but it will likely come with a higher cost.

Sailed the Sky on a 4-day on June 20th, and a friend who sailed with me bought one of the internet plans. Said the internet was quite slow and ended up losing some minutes due it connecting then disconnecting right away. She knew it would be slow, but was a bit annoyed with the connecting/disconnecting and using up minutes.
