rosiebee Posted May 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2016 We're on the Discovery in August and one of our stops is St Raphael. In the 'bumph' it says you can go to Cannes or St Tropez from this destination. Is it quite easy to get to Cannes under your own steam? We don't want to go on a tour, but would like to just have a wander about and some lunch there. I am neurotic about making sure we are back in time at the ship. Can anyone advise the best way to get to the centre of Cannes and would we have enough time for strolling up and down and having a lazy lunch? Many thanks - really counting down the days now. Whitechapel girl Posted May 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2016 If I remember right the train line hugs the coast all the way up to Monaco so easily do'able by train and reasonable. Thing I remember of trains in France is validating your ticket b4 getting on train on the platform. Trains also cheap. Check out the local trains on the Internet.
