Coco cay in January?

My husband and I are going on our first cruise in January and were thinking about purchasing an excursion for snokling in Coco Cay. I read on another board that the water might be cold there then. Should I wait to see what the water is like and see if I can rent some gear when we get there?

We were at Coco Cay last weekend on an almost completely full Sovereign of the Seas, and they were still "pushing" the snorkeling option on the ship and at the beach. So this does not appear to be something that sells out, so waiting may be wise.

The water will definitely be cooler in January, but I think the air temp may be more important. If you've got a warm or hot day the water may be refreshing while a cool, overcast day could make snorkeling miserable.
