We have been on the waitlist for an S4, S5, and S6 on Island Princess for months. Just got notification this morning we cleared the list and Princess offered us D701, a Vista Suite.

I have to make final payment by end of day today. Two quick questions;

1) does the balcony have the two steamer loungers?

2) is Dolphin deck a good deck to be located on?

Congratulations! You will be one happy cruiser!

I have sailed on the Island in D630 (which is a suite on the other side of the ship). This was pre dry dock where they made all those changes.

At that time, the balcony did have 2 wooden loungers with cushions and also two wooden chairs and a table. And the balcony was covered -- big plus in my opinion.

The only weird thing about the Island as opposed to most other Princess ships is the Horizon Court buffet is in the front of the ship instead of the rear. So you have a long walk to get to the buffet.

I'd say "You done good!"

Great...we are excited to go on this one.

Hoping someone recently off the Island can confirm that there are two padded loungers on the balcony...we are balcony people and live out there while on cruises!

We had the Vista Suite C-702 on the Island and loved it. (One deck up from yours and on the opposite side).

It's not as big as the Sapphire/Diamond's Vista Suites; the way it's set-up is a bit different but still similar. The big balcony was really nice especially if you have good weather. It was a nice quiet location and convenient to the elevators. Enjoy!

Not sure if it's still the same, but we had 2 padded lounge chairs, a table and chairs. The loungers were like the HAL teak steamer chairs.

As mentioned we cleared the wait list and got D701, a Vista Suite (S6). We accepted that room but stayed on the wait list for an S4 or S5. Questions are;

- are there S5's and S4's we should avoid?

- for the extra money we would pay for these higher categories are we really getting a better room. Or bigger balcony?

We cruïse often but the Island is such a different ship just not sure.
