I've put a hold on a cabin for this trip on the Spitsbergen, it goes from Bergen to Iceland, with stops in Scotland and the Faroes. Have previously done the 12 day coastal voyage. Has anyone done this cruise, or is it new? Comments welcome. We plan to fly into Oslo and do Norway in a Nutshell on the way to Bergen. Date is next May.

It's a new cruise, at least with this ship (but I think MS Fram has had similar itineraries previously). The itinerary looks really interesting. Flying into Oslo and taking NiN to Bergen is a great idea. If budget/time allow, maybe also consider staying a few days in Iceland at the end of the trip.

Thanks for the Iceland suggestion...we considered staying longer but have recently been there.

I'm looking longingly at this trip, too. Hoping I can fit it into my schedule. I think it looks fabulous; I would go for it if I were you.

I have booked the Coastal Cruise Southbound for March 2017. From your experience do you have any words of wisdom and suggestions for excursions?

We will also be visiting Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.
