hedy7813 Posted September 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2016 We are on back to back Windsurf cruises out of St Maarten in December. We've been on Windsurf before and I remember that the Windsurf did have the beach BBQ on Pigeon Island in St Lucia. Assume they'll have it on Pigeon Island again. The 1st leg of our cruise goes to St Barts, Tortola, Jost van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and Antigua. Does anyone know when Windsurf has the beach BBQ on that trip? Trying to plan excursions or at least trips to the local beach bars!
ridethetide Posted September 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2016 It is on Prickly Pear Beach in Virgin Gorda.
Naveron Posted September 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2016 As ridethetide said, Prickly Pear island is the site of the bbq. It is a small undeveloped island protected in the North Sound.
hedy7813 Posted November 29, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted November 29, 2016 Thanks for information. Does anyone know if the tenders will still go to Bitter End the evening we anchor?
Misty Morning Posted November 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2016 we were on the cruise last year and the Bitter End Yacht Club no longer accepts tenders from the Surf unless you have a reservation at their restaurant. They had a bout of flu 2 years ago with several clients sick which they believe came people that came from the ship. This being said we took kite surfing lessons at the club and they came to pick us at Prickly Pear
Naveron Posted December 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2016 w[/left What about Saba Rock or Leverick Bay? Can you get to these places by tender?
Misty Morning Posted December 3, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2016 Tenders do not go to Saba rock but go to Leverick Bay for tours of the Baths and then go back to Prickly Pear Island for the beach BBQ I.e tenders coming back from the Baths tour go directly to the BBQ without transiting via the ship. If you want to go to Saba Rock, talk to them about getting picked up on Prickly Pear Island, that's what we did for our kite surf lessons at BEYC

Naveron Posted January 27, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2017 The point is moot it seems because our beach bbq will not be on Prickly Pear but at Fischer's Cove, closer to Spanishtown.
