RCCL Rome Transport Only Excursion Question

Hi- we've booked the RCCL excursion Navigate Through Rome, a transport only (with gps device) excursion that drops you off in St Peter's Square, and says you have free time to do whatever, and then that you need to navigate to "your designated pickup spot."

 

Has anyone taken this excursion, do you know what the pickup spot is? I know it could always change of course, but I'm putting together a rough itinerary and it would help to know what part of the city we should aim to end up in in theory.

Haven't booked this particular excursion but our three trips to Rome on RCI we have booked a private tour with Bob's Limo. We just returned from the cruise last week and with 8 people it cost us € 87 per person for a pickup at port, private Vatican tour, coliseum visit, pantheon, Trevi fountain break for lunch. We just posted on CC board asking if anyone wanted to join the 4 of us and we're able to get the needed 8 for the price to be reasonable. The port is far from Rome, it's a long day and we prefer to let someone else navigate for us.

If you are big on planning yourself, you might find a 12 euro BIRG pass a much better and cheaper than paying for an RCI excursion. That pass covers all non-express rail to/from Rome as well as the local buses and metro.

That is a heck of a lot to see in one day. We were there in July 2015 and spent three days seeing most of those sites. You dont mention what month you are going but in July it was HOT HOT HOT !!!

On our first trip to Rome we did an amazing private tour with Rome In Limo. On our subsequent visits, we have used the HOHO bus to get where we wanted to be. You will need some sort of transport because it's a good walk from St Peters to all the tourist attractions.
