Clothes to wear on the TP

Hello all, my wife and I are on the Dec. 20th sailing on the TP and my wife was looking for suggestions on what to bring to wear on the ship, especially at dinner (formal nights). I usually wear a tuxedo but I was thinking of just bringing a nice light weight sports jacket and slacks. What do you veterans suggest?

There were plenty of Tuxes when we went in Aug., saw more dark suits than sports jackets and slacks.....I would think at holiday time people wpuld be more dressy...... anything goes for the ladies:)

bring your tux! my husband brings his tux and dinner jacket for formal nights, all other nights are tropical shirts for him.

I ended up renting through the Princess website for $85 for the whole trip. Don't have to lug it around and makes more room for the vino! A lot of positive feedback when I posted this question on the Princess board on this site.

When we went in September there were a lot of tux's, dark suits and gowns. Very few in just sport coats and slacks, though, there were the occasional t-shirts and jeans on the handful of Europeans that were on board. We were actually surprised that Princess allowed them into the dining room dressed that way!
