GradUT Posted October 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2016 Use the Deutsche Bahn website to plan your trip. There are a variety of trains and buses at different times of the day that you can take. The best choice will probably be the RE (Regional Express) train to Rostock and then you pick up a local S-bahn train from Rostock to Warnemuende. Here's the website for Deutsche Bahn: http://www.bahn.de
Sauer-kraut Posted October 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2016 Anni who posts regularly on here has created a top notch website for the region. Here is the link for her Berlin page http://travelanni.webs.com/berlin.htm You can't go wrong with her advice as she lives locally. Have a great cruise. Berlin is a BIG city, don't try to do it all that one day, especially if you are arriving that day.
JHLH821 Posted October 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2016 What train do we need to take to get to Warnenmunde from berlin. Also is the berlin marriott a good choice for the overnight stay before the cruise? We took a Baltics cruise this past August and stayed at The Marriott in Berlin for 4 days pre-cruise. It is centrally located, within walking distance of many sites and also the train. A tip on pricing, we originally made our reservations 6 months in advance and then watched as prices kept decreasing- we ended up with a great deal paying 89 euros per night (without breakfast). Let me know if you are looking for a guide, we highly recommend Heidi Leyton (she is top notch and possesses a wealth of information about Berlin and its' history).
