Thanks, ladies!

I have a little pixie cut so even a weak dryer will do the trick. Just doing last minute preps before getting a good nights sleep tonight. Will hit the road in the morning and plan to get there between noon and one.

Thanks especially for the inspiration, Cruisincrow! :p

The $6 Black Jack table was crowded but I waited a bit and eventually a seat opened up

Was curious about this here. I've had the Vegas bug lately but since I'm sailing on the 24th of Oct I figured I might scratch that itch at the blackjack table (and take a risk of SAM showing his tail). How many tables are there in that casino?

Thanks! Enjoyed the review and the photos looked great!

There were 3 or 4. There was only one $6 table, then it went to $15 and up. I hope Sam plays nice for you! :)

We did the SKY about 3 weeks ago and it was an awesome 4 niter!! I've never done a small ship and was nervous about it but it was great!! The Cruise Director JC was incredible...he was everywhere. The entertainment was non stop with music everywhere I thought. I did splurge and get a Owners Suite and with that 6 person hot tub on the balcony in 8201 just made our trip!!!! No drunks that we saw and the drinks were flowing non stop with No lines anywhere!!! We will easily go again on the SKY but in a cheaper room!!! I highly recommend this ship folks!!!

Great review! We will be on the Sky at the end of November. Where is the Lounge where you dropped off your luggage? That's a great idea. I initially booked an oceanview but recently upgraded to an Aft Balcony. My DH has no idea. We have only booked something in Freeport. Following that cruise, we will be on the Escape for a week.

You drop your luggage off at Captain Cook's Lounge, which is right where you board the ship on Deck 6. It's just past the library but before you get Dazzles.

That's great that you'll be in an aft balcony! Sky seems to have a more private aft balcony than some other ships we've been on. A lot of times you can look down and see everyone standing on their balconies but not on Sky. Have a great time!

I loved your cruise diary. It was just what I was looking for as I have never sailed on the Sky. I had sailed twice on the Pearl and from your description and pics this ship is similarly laid out. We booked the November 7th cruise as a spur of the moment idea, an Ocean View, and have no idea what room number or where it will be. It is classified as GTY so it is a mystery room. :D

You gave some very helpful tips about this new Free Style venue and the free flowing drinks. Such as the wines... red or white... no brand or grape (Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay?) loved the description of "Sky Juice" Can I get that on board??

We are going to try the Mandera Spa this trip and pamper ourselves. Hope the prices aren't too high.

Thanks again for your trip journal.

Thank you! We also booked an oceanview guarantee and got our assignment nine days before the cruise. Hopefully you'll find out your cabin soon!

At dinner, they offered one white and one red. I think the white was chardonnay. The red was merlot one night and cabernet one night. I didn't check the brand but the red wines were both good. Didn't try the white.

I doubt they would have Sky Juice on board but you can always ask. They'd need coconut water, which they probably won't have. They didn't have lemonade either, which seemed kind of weird. But they will definitely have Sky Juice in Nassau.

Have a wonderful trip!

First time on NCL. So do we have to pay for Dinner or is it included?

Dinner in one of the main dining rooms or at the buffet is included. The specialty restaurants (Cagney's, Le Bistro and Il Adagio) had a la carte menus where you paid per item. There was also a sushi bar in the evenings in the Plantation Lounge that charged per item.

There is also Longboards sports bar which is complimentary. Serves burgers, fries and such I would assume, much like O'Sheehans bar and grill aboard the Pearl. O'Sheehans had a very good lunch buffet, also complimentary so I will be interested to see if Longboards is similar.

Thank you for this great review. Just what I was looking for! We booked a last minute great deal (in our opinion) and are headed out on the Holiday cruise 12/26. Will be in FL for Christmas visiting my parents and the kids are staying with them. We have been on Norwegian Sun and this seems very similar. Looking forward to the open bar experience, but hoping the loud folks aren't on it!

Did you buy your RUI pass in Nassau before the cruise? We have been to Nassau several times, and other than taking a taxi out to the beach I think we may look at doing one of those all inclusive deals.

Thanks for the itineraries too. Our trip is a 4 day cruise, so we have a day at sea in addition to Nassau and the Private Island.

Enjoyed your whole review and pictures!

Thank you. I'm glad it was helpful. We talked to some people on our cruise who had been on the Sun and they said it was very similar.

We booked the RIU day passes in advance through Island Marketing: https://bahamascruiseexcursions.com/excursions/riu-inclusive-resort-day-pass/. They are cheaper that way - $75 vs. $100 if you buy them at the front desk.

Have a great trip and I hope the loud partiers will stay away from your cabin. :)

Thanks, I saw that again when I was showing my husband the pics. How much was the taxi to RIU? He's balking about that. I reminded him last time we went we ended up in a taxi, he doesn't remember. #hesthecheapone

It's $4 a person, the same as going to Atlantis. On the way back, there will be taxis waiting in front of the hotel. Since you won't be in a shared taxi then, it will be $11 (for both of you). Plus tip, of course. :)

I loved loved your posts!!!! I have to say I am a little confused about the all inclusive drinks from other posts. Can you order anything as long as it's not the high end liquor? Once again you have been my favorite post so far!

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The all-inclusive deal covers most things you would want. My husband mostly drinks beer and there was plenty for him. :) The wine at dinner seemed a bit limited (one red, one white) but we're not big wine drinkers so it wasn't an issue. I liked the mojito bar in the Atrium.
