Booking a Princess to assign stateroom prior to departure? Risks?

We used to book guarantee cabins on a regular basis and got better class cabins for every cruise except one, where we got exactly what we paid for. About half the time we got BA cabins for BF/BG guarantees.

 

I would say to the OP - go for it, and have a great cruise.

 

And why don't we do it now? We got spoiled on those Caribe deck balconies on Grand Class ships.

 

Yes, we have no problem with guarantees. Our last BD guarantee turned into a great BA on the Caribe deck.

We booked a gty obstructed balcony for our Jan 8th cruise on the Regal as the price was awesome. We received our assignment and where upgraded to a Deluxe bal aft! I would say as many have, if you are not fussy about the location then book the min level gty you would want and roll the dice!

We tried it once and went from an obstructed OV to a Caribe balcony. I'd do it again.

Good 4 u...on an oncoming cruise, I debated and debated about booking an obstructed balcony and I just couldn't do it...so went with the regular balcony paying 200 more PP(21 day cruise) and put no upgrade. Have not been on a Royal case ship looking forward to it.
