Sea saw 56 Posted November 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2016 This morning I was booking shore excursions for our Fjords cruise. I was amazed that when I started perusing them early, there were 36 listed. Went back 2 hours later (after booking them) to show them to hubby, there were only 22 excursions listed. Glad I booked them when I found them. In Bergen, a tour of Hardanger Fjord by motor coach and ferry, looked extremely interesting to me, though it is long (7.5 hrs) and expensive. Wondering if anyone has taken a tour through Hardanger fjord, and if so, did you consider it to be worth the entire day and expense (fully realizing everyone has different tastes in tours). Epic_Bear Posted November 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2016 We took it in May. There was a lot of photo stops, but the ferry ride was very short. I was thinking it would be more like a close up cruise to the fjord. It was still an interesting excursion, but I would have picked something shorter if I had to do it again. Eboracum_d Posted November 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Its not the most picturesque of the Fjords. I'd be more inclined to do something in Bergen itself e.g. Mount Floyen, the Stave Church or Grieg's House Sent from my iPad using Forums
Sea saw 56 Posted November 22, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted November 22, 2016 Thank you both for your replies. Considering your responses, I believe I'll let NCL have this excursion back....we don't appreciate day long excursions unless they are really highly recommended, and for the price....doesn't sound to be a good choice of time or money. I appreciate you! I believe Bergen holds much better choices.

happy_travellers Posted February 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2017 We enjoyed the Grieg museum, Stave Church and Bryggen cruise tour in the morning. Lunch on ship. In the afternoon we walked up to the Funicular, short hike at top and then walk around the fish market and Hanseatic museum. Great mix of the sights of Bergen. Happy planning!
