Oasis:Vitality Spa / Thermal Suite

Have you used the Vitality Spa/Thermal Suite on the Oasis?

DH loves the sauna/shower when we cruise and C&A employee told me they are in the Thermal Suite of the Vitality Spa and the charge to use is $30 per day.

Can anyone who has sailed Oasis and used this feature confirm this location and charge? I am cashing in points for OBC and would like to know how much OBC he will need to enjoy the sauna/shower.

This is part of the deal when we sail Celebrity in an AQUA class cabin and he sometimes visits the spa twice a day. He has never used the Spa on any of our Royal cruises.

Thanks in advance.

Grace,

It is correct that the only sauna on Oasis, Allure, and the later ships that Royal has been building is in the thermal suite in the spa. You should be able to get a week-long pass for $100 or thereabouts (or a couple's pass for about $200). The thermal suite is mixed-sex and bathing suits must be worn. The men's locker room is down a hallway a ways away from the thermal suite. Robes and shower shoes are provided, as are towels and simple toiletries. You drop your seapass with the spa front desk and receive a locker key in exchange, then reverse the process when you leave. The locker room has toilet and shower facilities.

The thermal suites on Oasis and Allure include a small sauna, small steam room, and an aromatherapy room, which is basically another steam room that they squirt scent into. There are heated ceramic lounges (very nice), and two specialty showers in the thermal suite itself which have waterfall, mist, rainstorm, and other effects. There's not really a great way to cool off between using the various heated rooms. There is no cold plunge or easy access to a swimming pool (which would be up several decks outside of the spa). The showers generally do not have cold water, and in fact, it's necessary to watch out for scalding hot water when showering in the thermal suite, in my experience. While the thermal suite is nicely decorated, there are no windows, no seas views, and it is relatively small and can get crowded and noisy easily if there are several people using it.

Thank you so much for answering. I will print your response and let DH decide if he wants to enjoy.

Harrisburg, PA.....Clarion, PA originally.

Thanks again

Small world. You're very welcome.

For us, using the sauna and steam room are part of the enjoyment of cruising. We tried Oasis and Allure in turn when they were launched, but generally have decided to skip these and the later classes of ships in favor of the ones that have the much nicer locker rooms and complimentary saunas/steam rooms.
