Things to do in Miami

We are arriving early for our January cruise and have 1 full day to explore before and 1 full day after. We are staying at the Embassy Suites. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids ages 10-15. What is the best way to get around? Taxi or city bus? We are in the process of moving at home and extremely busy at home so we are looking forward to a restful vacation...we don't want a crazy go, go, go type of vacation. TIA for any help.

Do the double decker bus tour. We really enjoyed it. Tons of fun.

The hop-on hop-off bus tour is a good way to get around the city. You can also have access to Downtown/Brickell from the metrorail at the airport. Uber/Taxi is fine too of course. I would not recommend the county bus.

If you are staying at the Embassy, cabs will cost you a fortune. You are isolated at the Embassy, there aren't even restaurants around.

 

Can you cancel and rebook downtown? At the very least, book the Blue Lagoon area.

 

If you can't, I would either HOHO bus or spend the day at your pool.

 

Your kids would enjoy South Beach the most. Lots of shopping and the beach.

Thanks! I'm looking into the hop on hop off bus and the bus tour. We have free shuttle to the airport. I wonder if we take that and catch the metro rail? Has anybody ever done that?

Uber is the word. Was our first time to use it and we went all over!
