Laundry service on RCCL Explorer of the Seas

We are new to cruising on the Royal Caribbean line and in particular the Explorer of the Seas.

Our planned cruise is 22 days from Sydney (Australia) to Seattle USA. I have looked at the FAQ site for the line and there seems to be some confusion about laundry.

The prices on the site are astronomical for for basic laundry for the cruise line to do the washing. Other than the bathroom are there other ways of getting the laundry done that wont make me feel like I dropped a lot of cash at the casino?

There are no public facilities on board any RCI ship for laundering your clothes, so other than the bathroom as you suggest, there is no other option other than the ship's laundry service. The prices are pretty close to land based dry cleaning or laundering services, at least in the US. There will be a complete price list for all services on board - hopefully it won't break your budget too much.

In addition to the above....there will be a wash-n-fold bag option on certain night (s) depending on length of cruise. This is a flat rate (affordable) for an all you can stuff into the bag provided...usually just used for basic underwear, t-shirts, pj's etc. You will be provided this bag and info by your cabin steward...if not be sure to ask about it...also the night (s) will also be listed in the daily Cruise Compass.
