Breakaway dinner dining wait times

Have been reading some reviews on dinner wait times in the regular restaurants - not specialty. 1 1/2 hours, really??? Can this be true? Do they give you beepers or do you just sit around? We have the 3 night specialty dining. But that leaves the other 4 nights. This could be a deal breaker. Thank you for your thoughts and experiences.

Most we have ever waited on any of our NCL cruises is 10-15 minutes and even that has been very rare. Usually we don't even get a beeper and walk right in after waiting a bit at the hostess' podium.

We have also never waited more than a couple of minutes, although we tend to eat fairly early.

Certainly during peak times there would be a wait, but from what I have seen and from comments I have heard, an hour would sound exceptional.

I have seen people with pagers in bars, so yes they certainly do give them out.
