NCL Getaway - Early disembarkation in Mexico, experiences?

Due to scheduling issues, thinking of getting off at penultimate port Cozumel before Getaway sails back to Miami. Not concerned about forfeiting the last day etc.

Does anyone have any experiences on doing this? Helpful agent trying to get official documentation but in case it isn't "formally approved":

1/ Suppose we could be considered "no shows" when the ship departs Cozumel - though I'd rather be up front about it so NCL can expect this rather than have to look for us. Though luggage might be an issue if they see us wheeling everything off?

2/ Perhaps more importantly - assuming Mexico won't be stamping our passports (given the way cruise ships work), will there be issues when flying out (ie why no entry stamp etc) asked by immigration officials?

Done this in France once on board Ruby (with pre-approval) but appreciate it was the EU there and as a UK passport holder, won't have had a stamp either way.

Any insights would be much appreciated!

I hope you are not on March 4, 2017, if you are don't do it. It changes the nature of the cruise from a closed loop cruise and all the other passengers have to undergo additional screening upon return to Miami. CBP is not at all happy when this happens. It is very different in Europe.

my husband and I will be cruising our first NCL cruise on 2/19/17-2/26/17 and wanting to ask about anybody's personal experiences at any of the ports we will be visiting, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Roatan? I have looked at the given links about each port but we were wanting to get some recommendations and opinions on the most fun and best snorkeling and beach excursions.looking for best ideas and bargains. Book though cruise ship or directly with excursion operators?

Thanks for the constructive advice... if this was really in fact the case, I would not do it on any sailings, yours or not...

Would be grateful if anyone else can verify this is in fact the case...

Don't do this! The ship will be held for a certain time and your names will be loudly announced over the PA system over and over and over and over again.

If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound?

In other words, who cares?

Ummm, the other 1000's of passengers because it causes delays for the ship leaving  The casino and shops don't open on time and on occasion messes up the arrival time at the next stop.

You should start a new thread instead of "hijacking" the thread from the OP. You'll get more information from the community who can answer your question specifically.
