Bonaire excursion

Hello Critics! We leave soon on our 10 day Caribbean Medley on the Royal.

Just wondering are the beaches public or are we stuck with an expensive excursion. They are only 3 hours and go close to $50 per person. Anybody ever just grab a cab and go to a beach? Is there anyplace you recommend over another? Thank you all in advance.

We just got back from ABC islands on the Caribbean Princess and rented a golf cart from Bonaire Cruisers for the day. It's a great way to see the island and you can stop where you want for as long as you want. Rental rate is $90 for the entire day with $100 refundable deposit.
