Yehootu Posted February 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2017 We've been to Manzanillo once before. 2 kids did an ATV ride ( daughter thought she was going to end up an organ donor ) and Wife, son and I did town. We then caught a cab to a beach spot for body surfing and food and drinks. This time we'll have my Mom in a transport chair. I've read somewhere that there is a new pier. Last time I believe we just walked into old town and shopped and went to a real old bar. Any recommendations on what we can do with Mom? She's 92, can walk short distances, no stairs, and Loves a good cocktail.
SadieN Posted February 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2017 There are several restaurants in the building across the street from the pier. There are a few steps (3-5) to access the area. Do not remember if the outside tables are up the stairs or not.
Rare Joelocal Posted February 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2017 There is a little bit of a walk from the cruise ship pier to town. If it's sunny and hot you'll be out in the sun. There was a US Coast Guard Cutter docked across the pier. No railings on the pier, just painted lines to stay inside of. As soon as you cross the street you can get in the shade where it is cooler. We walked to the right and then made a left into town. Along the waterfront, you can see how long the pier is.
Rare Joelocal Posted February 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2017 The Big Blue Fish. You make a left and go downtown. Streets are narrow There were many eateries among the shops.
Rare Joelocal Posted February 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2017 Oxxo Hotel If you like Macaroons, you need to purchase one or more of these. $1 each We spent the day walking around town. Doing some shopping and haing a couple of Tecates. It is not as hectic as the other ports. Merchants are not as agressive.
