A few questions please:

1) There was a "port market" across from where we docked. I do not know the name. (The BBQ smelled fabulous.). I'm wanting to explore and try some this trip.

-Does anyone know if they accept only UPesos? ( or would they take US?)

- Any recommendations?

-Anyone know the hours it is open?

2) I understand the Carnival Museum is nearby.

- What is it like?

- Hours/ cost/

-How is the walk? (Distance, "safe")

By "port market" do you mean the Puerto del Mercado? If so the food is wonderful. We had an incredible meal there in 2015 and will return next month. It was about a ten minute walk from where we docked in 2015. The restaurant we tried (there are over ten) took US, AR and UR currencies in addition to most North American credit cards. Exchange rates are posted.

We have been to Montevideo twice but have never visited the Carnival Museum.
