pacouple309 Posted March 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2017 My wife and I are thinking about taking a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. She enjoys playing Texas Hold’em poker, but prefers a live dealer. Does anyone know if they offer a live cash game in the casino on the Oasis of the Seas? Has anyone been on the Oasis and played Texas Hold’em poker in the casino? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Rosy1013 Posted March 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2017 It may be for just the tournaments that you get a live dealer. They just had the screens when we were on in Jan.

Thank you - We heard that they did have live dealers for the tournaments. It was the nightly cash games that my wife was interested in. We know that they featured automated poker tables in the past, but we were wondering if they changed and are using live dealers. It appears that they are still using the automated poker tables for the nightly cash games.
pacouple309 Posted March 28, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Yes they have them. Thank you - Do you know if the live dealers are for the nightly cash games or just for the tournaments? That is the exact information we are trying to find out. We know that they use live dealers for the poker tournaments, but we have been unable to find out if they also use live dealers for the nightly cash games. In the past, they used automated poker tables. We were hoping to find someone who recently played a nightly cash game on the ship.
rocdragon Posted March 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 28, 2017 I was on the Oasis last June, and I stopped by the casino a few times for their sit and go tournaments, but every time, the people sitting at the table decided to just play a cash game instead of doing the tournament. I asked one of the guys working there, who said if everyone agrees, they can play however they want. The poker table was fully computerized (no physical cards), and no live dealer. Also it looked like there was also a second table that was out of order (I was rather disappointed). Has it changed since then?
Erwin Family @ Sea Posted March 28, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 28, 2017 They usually offer a live nightly (10:30p.m. ) $2 - $5 no limit game. And of course the daily tournaments. Both the live games and the tournament will be posted on the daily compass, take a look at a recent one for current times. Hope that helps. It seems like the game depends on who is on the cruise each week. We appreciate your posting!
RFerrington Posted March 28, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 28, 2017 My experience has been that the cash games use the electronic poker machines and the tournaments use a live dealer. I have not been on Oasis since 2015 but unless things have changed, all of the O class ships still have the electronic machines. We were just on Harmony in Feb and they had 2 machines, one of which was not working. BTW, the cash games were $1/3 blinds.

We seem to be getting conflicting information. It's hard to know what we will experience. We may just have to take a chance. We appreciate you taking the time to write about your experience.
