Epic is a lovely ship. When you board you can go to the buffet or one of the MDR's for lunch. If you are in a suite, you can go to The Epic Club for lunch. Barcelona is a really nice cruise port and boarding is usually pretty straightforward. There will be a safety meeting on the first day. DO GO straight away when they signal for it as they check you in with your cruise card and will know if you are not there. You don't have to take your life preserver and they usually explain what to do quickly, demonstrate how to use the life preserver and tell you where your lifeboat is. This meeting is indoors and there are usually lots of places to sit and it goes quick. If you don't go, then you will be required to attend another safety meeting the next morning. Once this is over, the ship gets underway so be sure to be on your balcony or on a deck for sailaway as it is quite lovely out of Barcelona. Hope you have a great cruise and great weather!

We tend to eat in O'Sheehans on embarkation, nice and quiet.

Then it's pool deck after a wander around the ship. Take a carry on bag with swim wear.

We head to port about 11 and are usually on by 11.45/12.30.

Barcelona is a breeze. We will be out of Barca on The Epic in October for the 3rd time (4th time on Epic in total).

The important part of embarkation day is to make sure you make it to the muster drill. It will be before sailaway, so no worries on missing anything. But it is required and you'll be kicked off the ship if you don't make the original or make up muster drills. Then grab your drink and there will be a sailaway party on deck.
