Rare BostonGal35 Posted March 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2017 depending upon the sailing, and how full, would it ever be possible to get an invite to bid that would include categories higher than 2 above? Or will they pretty much always get enough bites (even if minimum bids) to fill suites and haven without windows or insides ever getting an offer? we are looking at a our jewel sailing in september. there are still TONS of suites and haven rooms left. its still 5 months away, but i know the alaska sailings often fill up early on, and this ship seems really empty so far. we are in a window, so any bid we get if the rules are strictly followed will only be for a balcony or mini suite. Knobhdy Posted March 31, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2017 Both Balconies and Mini-Suites are within 2 categories of Suites. All rooms of a specific type count as one category, so if you are in a balcony, you can bid on any suite. If you are in an Ocean View, you can bid on Balconies and Minis, Inside, bids on OV and Balcony. It is possible that NCL will change their policies (they do often and can at any time), but by the current procedure, if you are in an OV, you will not be invited to bid on Suites. That is how I understood it too.
