i am wondering if someone could answer my question.

I am aware that the money I spend on the ship earns points and the points go to the name on the credit card.

My question is, we have booked Meraviglia, YC in October, should be 1500 points. Who gets the 1500 points? Is it the name on the credit card that paid for the cruise or do we each get points? I don't have any match points so we are going through the levels and want to maximize our points , this will be our second MSC cruise.

Thanks

points for nights on the ship, which is different for each experience, go to all guests in the cabin

so both of you get 1500 points.

it is only "spend" which goes to the cc holder. to maximize your points alternate whose credit card you use or, each register a card for each cruise.

the 2nd option won't maximise your points as there will be residual spend after the spend which earns points (eg $620 would have 400 points and $20 residual) below the $150 on each card which together may add up to over the $150.

keep a good eye on the spend on the 5/6th days and see if an extra 10- 20 euros will give you another 100 points.

don't forget daily service charge is counted as on board spend.

NB

casino spend is NOT counted for spend on board

When we were building points we always put the onboard spend account on my credit card so I made Black level first. We continue to do that so, if MSC does introduce a new tier, I'm well on the way to attaining that level. DH has since reached Black from points for cruising only.

As Skier says: keep an eye on your OBS as every €/$150 gets you 100 points so if you're close to a multiple of that amount it may be worth it to buy say a trinket/souvenir in the logo shop (for example) to gain the extra points. They all add up!!

MSC adds €/$1 per person to your account as a donation to UNICEF, too - so add that in when calculating LOL (unless you have it removed!!)
