Cheers question

I have read thru a bunch of Cheer's threads to help understand the program but I am still confused...we had a drink package on our RC cruise last month but it was not as strict it seems as Carnivals...or as pricey it seems....

So my question is...I understand the 15 drink rule (alcohol only correct?) and I understand that you have a 5 minute break in between drinks...but do you cap out at $50 each day? Certainly 15 certain drinks I assume can come out to well over $50...so does that mean if I can only 5 $10 drinks a day or any 15 alcoholic drinks I want?

PS...does Cheers go on sale ever?

THANKS in advance.

OMG---that makes sooo much more sense lol...in that regard its better then the RC package as with that you pay the difference on any drink over $12...thank you guys I feel much better now lol

If you purchase Cheers at least two days before sailing you will pay the $49.95 or whatever it is plus an additional 15% for gratuities per day per person. If you wait to purchase once on board you will be charged $54.95 plus the additional 15%. So saves you just over $5.00 a day per person to purchase prior to boarding.

That's basically the only "on sale" price you will see.

There aren't a lot of drinks over $12 so it really isn't as great as it sounds. I know theres a list somewhere where people have scoured the ships looking for high price drinks but there really aren't that many. Most drinks are in the $7-12 range.

That may be true, but as long as it isn't a premade type of drink (DoD are usually a premade mix), you can always upgrade the liquor used. For example- order a margarita but ask for Patron or Don Julio. ;)

Shots of Grey Goose VX are $17 each - feel free to make drinks with that :) On the Sunshine it was at the Steakhouse bar (don't have to go to the restaurant to get to the bar) and casino. We even had a great waiter in the Liquid Lounge who ran to the casino to get our drinks without us asking so we could have it - he probably did it for the nice tip he got after lol!

Ask for top shelf liqueurs in your drinks. Much smoother. Like was said earlier, if you purchase at least the day prior to start you save $5 per day, per person. It's like almost getting one free day on a seven day cruise

Yes...alcohol only toward the 15 count...you can get as much bottles of water, specialty coffee, non-alcoholic beverages that you desire.....I have selected Cheers since it's inception a few years ago and I always felt it was worth it .... but I get so much more bang for my buck now that bottles of water and cappuccino's are included :)

We plan to get Cheers, honestly aside from the $ aspect the ability to relax and NOT check the total on the account each day or worry if I don't like a drink that I am wasting my $15 or spill a drink by the pool etc.....the extra relaxation associated with it makes it worth it for us for sure...THANKS GUYS !

Good question. I would think they would hook u up.

I keep going back and forth about cheers or bringing alcohol in rum runner flasks. But a little over $300 doesn't seem bad at all for a week.

I'm sure I'll get my money's worth. I'll be hanging out at the new martini bar.lol
