msk1 Posted May 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2017 We are traveling on the Golden this summer. Does anyone know if cashing out OBC can be done in USD rather than AUD? AUD is the "listed" currency on board. We have an overflow of OBC which needs to be redeemed. All excursions, dinners, etc. already paid so we have no other "use." Not wanting to purchase 25 yards of gold, spas, etc. Thanks, msk1
fishywood Posted May 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2017 Gotta be a little more specific: Northern Hemisphere Summer in Alaska, or Southern Hemisphere Summer in Australia? Golden will be sailing both this year. Assuming you mean Alaska, does the Cruise Personalizer for your specific sailing specify that the on board currency is $AU? Princess' usually policy for ships that alternate deployment between Australia and elsewhere is that for voyages that either start or end in Australia or New Zealand $AU is used; otherwise the on board currency in $US. msk1 Posted May 5, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 5, 2017 We are Australia/New Zealand. Listed currency is AUD but as US citizens we would prefer to cash out with USD. Thoughts? msk1

Thoughts? msk1 I guess it is the currency of your refundableOBC that will be cashed out. Converting to USD, if needed, will be based on the ship's currency exchange rate. Just a thought.
