Manhatten to Bayonne by neophytes

Huge thanks to members who shared advise on this adventure as we are not very experienced on anything but subway travel. We were staying midtown near the Garden at Fairfield Inns and Suites - great location and hotel for us. So Saturday morning we headed out to 33rd and 6th to catch the Path train - note we were traveling with just two 22" bags and a satchel. That trip was $2.75 each (metro card works). As it was a weekend only one line was running so no decision on which to take. We got off in Hoboken and took the light rail to 34th in Bayonne. Be aware when you come up the street out of the Path walk to the depot on your right, through the waiting room (take a look as it is a classic beauty) and out the doors on your right onto the track area. Be sure to purchase your ticket - $1.75 each. The light rail tracks are all the way to the left by the water. Validate your ticket once you get to the track. On that day the train was running on the half hour. Once in Bayonne we exited to the street and called a cab with the wait being less than 15". This location is very close to the port with no traffic issues so we were out of the cab in less than 10". Easy trip and we were on board by 11:30 having left our hotel at 9:15. Again, thanks to the members willing to help us plan this.
