onthelake Posted June 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Also, go to your local library for travel books and look at the tourist websites for your ports so you can decide what are your 'must see' spots. There is no shortage of tour possibilities, from temples, to beaches to heritage sites, markets, scenic drives, culinary experiences.
NantahalaCruiser Posted June 17, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Highly recommend an overnight junk tour with Indochina Junks. 16 CC members from our roll call chartered one of their three 20 passenger Dragon Pearl junks for about 200 USD pp. We found the food excellent (and they were very accommodating to two vegetarians.) The highlight of course was the unique beauty of the small but tall limestone islands jutting out of the water. But we also enjoyed the included activities: kayaking, walk through a cave, swimming off from the boat, rowboat ride through a floating fishing village and tour of a cultured pearl farm. Have a wonderful cruise.

We were there during hot/humid weather, and we were grateful that she had an air-conditioned van available for those who wish to use it, to help with some of the transportation. We had an evening tour with her, which was fun, and the lights were beautiful. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our second tour with her due to very heavy rain (a Typhoon was arriving).
