PAK11 Posted June 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Hi. Temperatures along the Danube dip to the mid-50s at night in June/July. I don't know how windy it is on deck for a river cruise (Passau to Budapest), but wonder if I should pack a light leather jacket -- or if a sweater and maybe a windbreaker will be enough. (I live in a warm climate, and am a bit sensitive to cold.)
easyboy Posted June 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2017 For us from the northeast, your light leather jacket or sweater will work just fine. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Forums mobile app
Floridiana Posted June 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Bring a waterproof windbreaker that doubles as a rain jacket and a thin fleece/thin sweater just in case. Temperatures are very variable. Right now they have a heat wave. A leather jacket is too heavy and not good in case of rain.
dsrdsrdsr Posted June 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2017 If you think you might need a jacket, then pack a jacket. It isn't a packing failure if you don't need it. Besides, saying the weather dips to the mid-50s does not mean every night - it could easily be 10 degrees higher or lower.

Wembley Fraggle Posted June 21, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2017 If you are traveling any time soon - the weather is quite nice over here at the moment. Nights in mid/low 60s, days in high 80s. Lowest temperatures are currently around 3/4 am in the morning and then nice and warm until 10/11 pm. Yes, take a light jacket, just in case (Europe is not exempt from rain in summer... though it has been far too dry all year) but don't worry about the mid-50s at night too much. You might appreciate those cooler nights.
