We will be taking this cruise in May 2018. We are wondering about taking pre and post cruise tours through Viking in Athens and Venice. The prices are steep and don't appear to include tours. I would love to hear from people who have taken advantage of the Pre and Post cruise offerings and hear if they think it was worth it. Thank you.

We are taking this cruise March 29' 2018. We are doing our own pre and post transfers and hotels. Staying at the Herodion hotel, using PK tours for airport transfer and private tour of Athens with a drop off at the ship. In Venice we are staying at the Hotel Becher, using a private water taxi to the hotel.

We took this cruise this March/April. We booked pre and post cruise on our own. We found it much more reasonable. We stayed at the Hotel Plaka in Athens - right by a metro station, so we took it in from the airport. Very easy to do and the hotel has a gorgeous view of the Parthenon from its rooftop bar.

I've taken Viking pre & post tours. They are very expensive for what you get. A modicum of adventurousness lets you customize your experience at under ~half the cost. Athens & Venice should be easy.
