Cove Balcony

There are a few cabins that do not have the lifeboats. A search on here should get you ther numbers. Our room had 50% blockage of the night sky. You don't notice it when looking out to the horizon but trying to view the whole sky was impossible. Lead the the more private feeling.

Yes, there are a few that don't have a lifeboat directly above. But, because the cove balconies are recessed, they don't get much direct sunlight. So, if you're planning to work on your tan, your best bet is to go up to the Lido deck or the deck above that and find an empty lounge chair. If you select a cabin that is somewhere between mid ship and aft, you'll have very little (if any) spray come up onto your balcony. The cabins closer to the front of the ship seem to get the brunt of the spray coming off of the bow.

We love the Cove Balcony. We booked the same one for our last two cruises. We have booked a Cove Balcony for our next three as well. We love being closer to the water and we love the privacy of these balconies more than other balconies we've stayed in (even if we liked those balconies as well). Also love being on Deck 2.

We love the cove. We have had a cove balcony 4 times, 2 times on the Dream cabin 2288, 1 time on the Breeze cabin 2294 and 1 time on the Magic cabin 2288. We had more water on the one on the Magic than any of the coves that we had have, it was very windy on that cruise.

We have thought abt trying the cove balconies for the closeness to the sea as well. OP thank you for posting the Q and to everyone for every little detail of your responses. All that I have read before was they were by far more wet and noisy than serene. But now we may see if we can change our deck 7 balcony on the Breeze for a cove if any of the better locations are still available. Cruise is not until next spring so maybe there is still time.

It'll be nice to hear a review. Either way it seems like a Win-Win for you. Good luck

Try to get one below the Excursions Desk if you want Port side, or below the Guest Services desk if you want Starboard side. No noise from above. Try to avoid booking a cabin below the galley. Study the deck plans carefully before choosing.
