Astro Flyer Posted August 13, 2017 #26 Share Posted August 13, 2017 From CC: (12:45 p.m. BST) -- Pacific Princess's current eight-night Ireland and Scotland voyage got off to a slow start yesterday (August 12) as the ship was delayed departing the port of Dover following a power failure onboard. The line has confirmed that the 680-passenger ship finally departed after power was restored and all hotel services were up and running again at 12:18 a.m. this morning. As a result, Princess Cruises has cancelled the ship's first port of call at St Helier in Jersey today. In a statement the line said: "The cause of the power failure is under investigation by the Captain and his Chief Engineer. "The delay will impact the planned itinerary with a cancellation of the first port of call St. Helier (Jersey). Instead, Pacific Princess will proceed to Waterford (Ireland) for an early arrival on 14 August." The ship will also call at Dublin and Edinburgh before arriving back in Dover on August 20. Passengers onboard the current Pacific Princess cruise will each receive $150 in onboard credit for the missed port. https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=7996
