kasmca Posted August 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2017 We've only ever cruised in the Caribbean where taking food off the ship is prohibited. We will be sailing POA later this month and was wondering, since POA is an American Ship sailing in America (Hawaii), do they provide bagged lunches to take ashore during the day? I have heard of people making an extra sandwich from the breakfast buffet to take ashore. Is this practice acceptable and / or common? This would be useful if planning a beach day where restaurants are not plentiful. Thanks
pizzalady1 Posted August 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2017 NCL won't provide you with a bagged or box lunch, however, as you mentioned, there is no problem in making a sandwich and taking it off the ship. We had a foldable cooler and made sandwiches, put in a can of water/soda, a baggie of ice and we were good to go. Please note everyone, you can only do this on the POA since it never leaves Hawaii and is provisioned in Hawaii.
casofilia Posted August 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2017 Do NOT attempt to take food off a ship in any other port, many authorities now have food dogs immediately ashore.
