and loved everything about the ship...the food, the crew, the ports, the accomodations...I did post a review both on the Carnival boards here and in the "Reviews" portion of CC itself (at the top of the screen, click on "reviews", just below and to the left of the little green fish).

if you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them.:)

I am on the valor now. We started our cruise yesterday. So far it has be GREAT. The food has been hot. Steward, restrant staff and anyotherstaff member I have passed or talked with has been very pleasant and always ask if we need any help.

I will post a review when we get back.

I've never sailed on Valor, but maybe we can be more helpful if we knew what kinds of things are important to you on a cruise. That way people who have been on her can tell you exactly what to expect.

Very recently there was a poster whose experience appeared to be mostly with Celebrity and he or she was very unhappy with his or her Carnival cruise for a number of reasons and many of them seem to have stemmed from expecting Carnival to re-produce a Celebrity cruise experience. I have never sailed Celebrity either, however I think it's fair to say that if you go into the experience with rigid expectations you may find the Valor (and possibly the Carnival product as a whole) does not meet them. Not because there's anything wrong with Carnival, but it simply is a different product altogether.

Of course maybe you didn't like something about Celebrity and Carnival will offer you something that will absolutely thrill you! That remains to be seen...but I will say that any experience is what you make of it. And you have definitely started out the right way with researching! Good luck and I hope you find all the answers to your questions and have an amazing cruise!

I was on the Valor last week and had a wonderful first cruise. Our cabin was large and very clean, big bathroom and the shower was to die for. Room service was amazing as the longest we waited the three times we ordered was maybe seven minutes. The food throughout the rest of the ship was good to great and this included the diningroom (ours was the Lincoln), some of the things were not the best that I have had but then others in our seating area would be raving about that very item, so I suspect that it is all in the person and his particular taste buds.

On the downside, I will never go out to sea from Miami again, it took about an hour and a half to get to our room (I heard that the computers were down for 45 minutes) and then again almost that long to get back ashore, very slow going through customs but that is an issue with the port and not with CCL, BTW the customs officers were great!

I looked over the Capers every evening but still missed a lot of things, like the chocolate that I just happened to come across in Rosies one afternoon, try going there in the mid afternoon to see what is going on.

Hope some of this helps, over all I would give this an all around 8 as far as vacations go.

If you are on this cruise right now and u might just be the right person to help me out. I needed some pictures of occupants of Cabin number 2473. I want to surprise them with pictures and it will be so good to see the smiles and excitement on their faces. If yoo could email me some pictures, (they should not know that you are taking them) to ron410@yahoo.com and I will definitely be grateful and will cover all expenses and time taken for the venture.

Hope you are having a good trip. I have travelled the Glory and was satisfied and my next trip will be on the Valor.

Cheers and thanks for all the help (the more pictures the better it ii )

We did the Valor this past May and did the western route and had a great time. It was our second cruise and we had people in our group who had been on 8 cruises. Even our dd's had a great time with the ship. Our room steward was great and made towel animals every night for us...everytime we would see her she made a point of speaking to either us or the kids. The one thing I am really glad we did was created a deck card to place behind our sail and sign cards so it was easy to figure out what was where onboard the ship. I don't think anyone in our group got lost. If you want the deck plans just email me at chrly_grl@hotmail.com and put valor deck plans in the re line and I will get them to you. Our ports of call were Belize, Rotan, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. If you have any additional questions I will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Maybe I can help out a little here since we have sailed both Carnival and X at least 3 times each the past couple of years with sailings currently booked on both...Valor 12/18 and Century 2/18/06.

To us the biggest difference is in your fellow passengers. Now these are all generalities but CCL will attract a much younger, more energetic crowd then X. The casino, clubs and other night spots will be much more active late at night on C. Food is very subjective but we have always found things we like on all ships we have sailed. Our favorite thing on X is the lack of annoying announcements throughout the day hawking bingo that you will hear on C. We however much prefer CCL's choice of house bands. The entertainment such as production shows are similar on all the lines IMHO including HAL and RCL.

We go on C expecting to enjoy a younger crowd with more late night activity and we can usually afford a balcony to enjoy our quiet time.

We go on X expecting a more laid back older crowd with more quiet time to be with each other.

Regardless we always have a GREAT time. Hope you do to.

What are you looking for in a cruise? Are you looking to party and have a good time? Or are you looking for the fine dining experience and relaxation? Carnival caters more towards the younger crowd..meaning.. drinking, dancing, partying, gambling. But don't get me wrong, you can also relax on Carnival as I did both.

Just got off the Valor a few days ago. Everything was great. Great cabin, Great food, Great entertainment. Well let me take that back..... everything wasnt great, as the CD was very poor. No biggie!

Just go with the flow and remember there is no such thing as a bad cruise!!!!! :D

Or if you still arent sure........ we could trade places.......I'll go on the cruise for you and you come here to 10 inches of snow and go to work for me.

Linda
