Day pass for Atlantis Resort?

From web page http://www.cruisecritic.com/ports/newport.cfm?ID=3, it mentioned "hard-to-come-by day pass for about $25 ($19 for kids). The pass gets you access to most of the must-see sights at the resort, such as the Dig, the marine habitats and their beach".

Is this day pass still available? Does this day pass include the dig tour mentioned in other threads?

Thanks a lot.

You can still purchase a ticket to a tour of the DIGS and the lagoons. The cost is $29 ($21 for kids) and no longer includes a beach pass. You can purchase them at the kiosk at the port or at the Ferry Dock information center, as well as in the casino at the Atlantis.

Some Ships sell an Atlantis Beach Break Package which allows access to a roped off area on the beach and lunch (as well as a guided tour of the DIGS. This is much more expensive, and only available thru certain ships.

For those who purchase the DIGS tour and still want to go to the beach, there's a public beach next to the RIU which allows cruisers to rent a chaise and umbrella. No amenities, no concessions, no bathrooms.

Do you think it is worth the $29? What can you see without a pass?

Honestly, NO, I don't think that $29 is worth it, unless you have never seen a nice full scale aquarium before.

There's plenty to see for free, and quite frankly, not nearly "bahamian" enough to be of interest to me.

For Free....You can enjoy the marina village and shops, eat at one of the eateries, grab a latte at Starbuck or an ice cream at the upscale shop. Then head to the lobbies and check out the decor, upscale RODEO Drive shoppes and views of the property from the large windows/balconies . You can get a nice view of about 50meters of the aquarium if you head to the Great Hall of Water restaurant between the Coral and Royal Towers. Floor to ceiling walls of glass with very interesting fishes, corals and other creatures. Enough to thrill the kids, for sure.

Head to the Casino to play the very tight slots and view the beautiful Ghiloly glass sculptures throughout the casino. Stunning work.

Atlantis may be paradise for some, but to me, it's out of place and has nothing to do with the culture of the country. Like Vegas in South Florida.

Keep you money in your pockets, check it out and then head to the beach for the day. There's a public beach nearby next to the RIU.

I booked a room on Jan 2/06 for 4 of us for US$ 172 all in ( lots of taxes and surcharges). Heck at $43 pp you can't buy an excursion like this. Much better to book and enjoy the lazy river , the waterslides and all amenities. My cost for a tour would have been US$ 100 anyway (29*2 + 21*2) so for an extra $18 a head its worth it.

check out the prices for comfort suites/ and atlantis online. i paid $115 for the beach tower and got the coral tower instead. enjoyed the pools and slide despite the short time we had there.

Did you have enought time to do all the slides? I will be there from 1pm to 8pm via the Carnival Liberty.
