Remind Me: GTY Assigned, Can I Change Staterooms?

Hi All - It's been awhile since I've sailed RCCL. I booked a cruise today (X GTY) and have already been assigned a stateroom. The location is good, but it's a connecting room, which I don't love. There are plenty of non connecting rooms available in the same category. I know I can throw myself back into the guarantee pool. Can I call and ask for a different room to be assigned in the same category? Thanks.

Royal normally allows those booked under US/Canadian rules to change to another available stateroom within the same exact category.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll call and give it a try. I just wanted to be armed going into he discussion. It took 30 min of escalation to get them to book me using the "Friends & Family" rate because I'm sailing solo...
