First regent cruise question

We will be on our first Regent cruise on 12/12 from Miami. Our flight arrives at 7:30AM on embarkation day. Will be be taken to the port upon arrival and wait to board there or wait at the airport? Anyone who has had an early arrival for a cruise, can you tell us how it was handled?

Hi wellwitz,

Welcome to Regent and to this board.

If you arrive at 7:30am and are using Regent air, you will be taken to the Regent hotel to hang out until it's time to board the ship. There will be a representative of Regent at the airport to greet you as you come to the luggage area. Look for someone holding a sign with REGENT on it. They will have your name on a list. Also, you will need to keep your carry-on and personal item with you at the hotel. Sometimes you can ask that the hotel store your carry-on so you can walk around the area or visit a place of your liking until it's time to get on the bus to board the ship.

Best of luck to you and hope you enjoy your first Regent cruise. :D

Welcome to Cruise Critic and the Regent board. There are various ways that Regent handles this type of situation. If your flight arrives at 7:30 a.m., by the time your luggage and other passengers check in with the Regent representative, the bus will likely not leave the airport until 9:00 a.m. While we have not arrived in Miami early we have arrived in other ports early. Sometimes the bus will give you a tour around the city and other times they may drop you at the cruise port.

While there could be a long wait, people begin getting to the port at 11:00 a.m. Boarding begins at noon. People that will be at the cruise port will all be excited about the cruise and will chat with you. It is amazing how fast the time will fly!

Enjoy your cruise.
