I got the email. I checked the price of an excursion for our upcoming Equinox cruise and it is now discounted. I canceled and re-booked on-line and got the cheaper price no problem. Saved $33 :) Had no problems at all doing this on-line. I had booked with OBC and it was instantly refunded so I could re-book. The website worked well in this case :)

Glad you were able to do this. My experience was different.

I wanted to cancel two excursions that we had booked and we wanted to cancel the bookings and book again using the 20% off prices. The captain's club rep told us that the computer "would know" that we had cancelled and re-booked--and that our price for the excursions would be the original price even if we re-booked. ????

I felt that passengers have no advantage of booking early. He said that we have the advantage of getting a spot on a popular excursion. Well, obviously the tours weren't full---otherwise there wouldn't be a 20% off banner on the two excursions we had!!

What a turn off.

He said it was the same with pre-cruise purchases of Internet or beverage packages. So why purchase early?:mad:

I booked shore excursions on the Celebrity website about 2 weeks ago. This weekend I went on to make sure all the excursions were booked correctly. They were running a promotional offering 20% off certain excursions. I went to each one of my bookings and the two that qualified for the 20% discount showed a reduced price.

This morning I go on the website again and the old prices paid were showing for those two excursions. I called and spoke to half a dozen people who said "unfortunately you would have had to cancel and rebook to be eligible for the discounted prices", I said why would I do that when the reduce price was reflected on my booking? No answer for that! I will be taking this matter up on board with an excursion specialist. Buyer beware!
