I don't want to try to interpret it but I THINK if you prepay your original gratuities it won't affect you.

You invoice should already have the 18% gratuity on it and that is what you will be responsible for.

The deposit is a deposit on the cruise fare. It has nothing to do with gratuities.

If you have only paid your deposit, then the 18% gratuity for the UBP will be on your invoice and you will have to pay it when you make your final payment. It will based on the price when you booked your cruise.

Although I would think anyone looking at a cruise price drop would need to consider the increase in beverage package service charges to evaluate the overall price.
