Ideas for early morning Miami arrival before 3:30 sail away?

Hi everyone - so, we have a red eye from Vegas arriving 7:10 am to Miami with a same day cruise departure from port of Miami at 3:30 pm. Arriving the day before would have been better, but this was our only option given schedules, etc.

 

Assuming we arrive without delays, any suggestions for passing the time before we can get ourselves and luggage onto the ship? Any places to store luggage while we explore? Are there any hotels that would hold our luggage while we eat breakfast or sit on the beach?

 

Sure would appreciate any ideas from seasoned visitors. We've never been to Miami before. Thanks!!

arriving Miami at 7:10 means by the time you collect your bags you are approaching 8:10

 

get a taxi to the port and now it is 9:10

 

I'd look to kill an hour, maybe two .... easily done by eating breakfast IN the airport.

 

Find La Carreta ... there is a location in the airport and you'll find a BUNCH of airport workers and airline folks eating breakfast there ... CUZ IT IS 100% Cuban food ....... ya can't get it better than this. Not a tourist place ... a workers place ....

 

By the time you finish breakfast (cafeteria style) head to the ship and check in ... by 10 check in is in full swing.

Or book a cheap airport hotel, advise them that you will not arrive until about 8:00-8:30, and ask for a late check out. Shower, nap, maybe a dip in the pool, and then cab to POM about 1:00
