fred111 Posted December 13, 2017 #26 Share Posted December 13, 2017 On the Solstice right now. No Noro problems and one of the best cruises we have ever taken. Great ship, great crew, super food.
leaveitallbehind Posted December 13, 2017 #27 Share Posted December 13, 2017 (edited) that's good to hear - we are on Solstice 29 March 2018 out of Sydney and hope the Norovirus issue is well and truly gone by then! The virus does not live forever on a ship! It is originated and spread by people. And as it is brought on board and by already infected people it could be gone, back, gone, and back again by then! The ship - any ship - will be thoroughly cleaned as well be then, as it would be after each instance of an issue. You do realize that you have just as much a likelihood as contracting it at a mall, movie theater, school building, restaurant, etc., on land. Anywhere where there is a concentration of people where someone may have it can be a source for you to get it as well. A ship only concentrates that group of people for a longer period of time, which is why more preventative measures are typically taken on board a ship.
