Port Canaveral Recommendations

Hi All,

 

Will be arriving the day before our cruise at MCO. Any recommendations on where to stay? Thinking about staying close to the cruise port but not sure if it is better to stay by airport and do to port the next day?

 

Any recommendations for transport services? Hotels?

We do a one-way rental car and stay at the port, usually at the Residence Inn.

Personally, we like to stay near MCO and shuttle to the port the next day. We like getting off the plane and going directly to our hotel and relaxing. Plenty of reasonably priced hotels near MCO that are serviced by Cortrans cruise port shuttle, which is the one we prefer. A lot of restaurant choices nearby as well.

 

Like I said, this works great for us but plenty of people like to go directly to Cocoa too.

We like to stay in Cocoa Beach which is about 10-15 minutes to the port. Coming from cold and snow it is nice to arrive and go right to the beach. Lots of shuttle companies that transport from MCO to Cocoa Beach hotels and from hotel to port.
