Very reduced fees on Jewel out of San Juan!

We had a longstanding reservation on the April 1st Jewel cruise. The price has drastically dropped on the past weeks and we have constantly been calling in to get the price adjustment. Final payment isn’t until Jan. 1st.

We yesterday took advantage of a Balcony Guarantee for about $1200 Canadian Dollars (taxesin) plus $100us OBC. Don’t know what that is in US$ but must be pretty cheap!

We did this exact cruise last year, great ship. San Juan cruises are running, actually we will be spending an extra week in a condo there.

 

Thanks for the notice! Got a great price and Cabin for January 21st. United Airlines also had pretty great prices too.

I like to be at least 8 staterooms away from the Centrum because of the noise at times. Also, depending on the conditions, the Centrum can act as a casino cigarette smoke distribution system.

 

That's for sure....cough..gag...cough. Just awful! :mad:

 

Simple fix would be to install a door on the casino to keep the smoke in there. Wish they would do that on all four sisters. Lots of pax complain about that chimney effect. Really ruins relaxing or using the various decks above the Centrum also. :o

Not sure if I picked the wrong cabin, but was able to upgrade from JS to GS for no charge on Jewel in January. We are 1050, about 4 from the Centrum. Could change to more forward.

 

Worried about noise, but could be far enough back to be OK...and I think that port side has a door they close at night...but can't remember.

 

Like having mid ship during the rougher seas of the southern Carib though.

There was one awful toilet smell all week long on our cruise last week. It came from the starboard passageway on Deck between the Centrum and the upper floor of the Tides. There is a men's room located along that passageway. Smelled some in there, but an even stronger odor in the hallway. It was even noticeable enough to drive us away from Latitudes in the Centrum area. We ate on the same side as the passageway, but would take the long way around going in & out the port side passageway. Hope they found & fixed the problem during the turnaround time in San Juan last Sunday.

We were just able to save another $130 of our already booked Cyber week BOGO rate today. RCI this week added Senior Rate combinable with BOGO to our Jewel of the Seas cruise on 4/22/18. Everyone 55+ should recheck their cruises around that time. TA said RCI typically will add this rate about a month before final payment due if ship is not fully booked. We now have D1 category corner AFT balcony 8168 for $1730 incl. taxes for 2! Can't wait to try Jewel. We were on Oasis last April, but too big for us and not enough views of the ocean to feel like we were on a ship :D

Thanks for posting! This may help some but my April 1/18 fare went sooo low around the Black Friday weekend even with the senior fare added it is hundreds more now....I will keep checking though.

I paid $1200CAN for a balcony guarantee for 2 plus a $100US OBC (including taxes, excluding gratuity)! Not sure I will see it that low!

I can't believe it but the D1 price went down ANOTHER $100 plus an added $100 OBC today; RCI calling it Green Monday sale plus the Senior Discount

Flights from Canada were all cancelled so there was no way to get there unless we did flights connecting in the US. we weren’t interested in that so switched to the Oasis out of Port Canaveral. I suspect the lower pricing has to do with a lot of cancellations especially from Canadians.

You may be right! I heard about the Air Canada cancellations. Hope you enjoy the Oasis :cool:

We leave this Sunday. After reading this post a few days ago I upgraded our balcony room to the Junior Suite W guarantee for a similar but slightly higher price. This morning I saw our room has been assigned to us as a Grand Suite. Yaaay! Thanks again. Time to pack.

We are on that same cruise and unbelievably cheap balcony guarantee as well. We had booked flights months ago from Toronto. Hope you find some good flights.
