imouer Posted December 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2017 We never left out of NOLA and wanted to try something different. We live in the Mid-Atlantic and had never seen NOLA.
JerseyGirlJen Posted December 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Maybe. I'm from NJ and my first 2 cruises were out of Florida…..easy 2 hour flight and not crazy expensive. I just booked my 3rd cruise this week and am going out of NOLA in April. Have always wanted to cruise from there too. I'm going to guess that there won't be a ton of us from my neck of the woods…flights are a little pricey and the majority are connecting flights, so it's just easier for us to go from Florida, or NY. However, I've always met a lot of people from the midwest on cruises out of Florida too, so who knows. As a whole I think people probably tend to go out of the ports that are closer to home, easier to get to, cheaper flights, etc. Except, of course, for me ;-)
bearette Posted December 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2017 You will find more locals on any cruise so more people from the south and drivable distance. I notice clientele differences on shorter cruises and different lines, but Home ports tend to be distance related.
