Does Anyone Know If The Grandeur Is Due To Be Stretched Or Refurbished? Just Curious, She Sails From New Orleans (next Year) And Would Be Convenient For Us, But After Sailing Navigator She May Feel A Little Small To Us. We Loved Navigator.

We just got off the Grandeur last Monday. We asked several crew if they knew anything about refurb but they didn't (or couldn't) share any info. We tried to see on-line if there was anytime next year they might do it, but from the calendar all weeks are spoken for with cruises, so I'm thinking they have to wait another year!???

Yes, it is a smaller ship, but we had the best time! The passenger to crew ratio is 5 to 1, I believe, which is MUCH lower than any of the bigger ships. We even went ahead and booked another cruise for next year out of New Orleans for the same week!

Good Luck! J. :)

We came off the Grandeur last week. At the C&A reception this question was asked. TheCaptain said that although the plans for stretching the Grandeur have been drawn up no decision has been made as to when or if it will be done. We loved the ship just the way it is. Everything seems to be centrally located. She is beautiful and has been well kept with only minor signs of wear.

We just returned from Grandeur on 12/3. I spoke with several different employees regarding a drydock/stretch. The first talk of drydock was for Oct, 2006 but then that turned into Oct, 2007. The talk about the stretch was that they wanted to see how well Enchantment was recouping the cost. There was also talk that the bungi trampolines were not working out as well as hoped. Therefore, allthough the plans from Enchantment are there to be used, they may not want those same plans anymore.

But of course, all talk and it changes based on who you talk to. We enjoyed our cruise and found the ship to be in good shape with a friendly crew. That's good enough for us!
